In another successful operation, the Shin Bet and Israeli Police announced yesterday (Thursday) that they recently foiled a serious terror attack that was being planned in the Galilee. According to the information received, Basel Abuhara, a 23-year-old resident of Arraba in Galilee, devised a plan to carry out a combined attack involving explosive devices and gunfire against worshipers at holy graves in the area.

Abuhara did not act alone; in the months leading up to his arrest, he was assisted by experienced Palestinians skilled in the construction of explosive devices, who had entered from the West Bank without proper permits. Together with them, he worked on preparing the explosives and conducted surveillance of the intended targets for the attack.

As part of the plot, Abuhara established a military cell, recruiting two minors. These minors were arrested along with him and were interrogated by the Shin Bet and the Central Unit of the Northern District Police. During the investigation, they were found to be in possession of communication devices, a military vest, and dual-use materials that could have been used to manufacture explosive devices.
