Three families, three communities, and the entire Israel Police force woke up this morning (Sunday) to unbearable news. Chief Superintendent Arik Ben Eliyahu (37), Chief Warrant Officer Hadas Brantz (53), and Chief Superintendent Roni Shakuri (61), three dedicated police officers who devoted their lives to protecting the citizens of Israel, were murdered in a brutal shooting near the Tarkumiya checkpoint. Behind the uniforms and titles lie touching life stories of loving family members, devoted friends, and engaged community members who have left an immense void in the hearts of their loved ones and in the heart of Israeli society as a whole. Especially poignant is the story of Chief Superintendent Shakuri, who lost his daughter, Chief Warrant Officer Mor Shakuri, in the battle for the Sderot station on October 7.
Chief Superintendent Arik Ben Eliyahu, aged 37, from Kiryat Gat. He is survived by a wife and three children, parents, and two sisters. His funeral will be held today at 16:00 in the military section of the Kiryat Gat cemetery.
Chief Warrant Officer Hadas Brantz, aged 53, from Sde Moshe. She is survived by a husband and three children, a granddaughter, parents, and five siblings.
