U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that Kashyap (Kash) Patel will be appointed the next FBI Director. The announcement was made on Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. Patel, who is well-known for his appreciation of Israel’s intelligence capabilities, signals another significant boost to U.S.-Israel relations during this time of war.
Patel has frequently expressed admiration for Israel’s intelligence operations, calling on the U.S. to stand “shoulder to shoulder” with Israel, which he referred to as “our number one ally.” After Israel’s “Beepers” operation in Lebanon, he said in an interview with Fox News:
“What the Israelis did was genius. Hamas is watching this and must be trembling. They must be terrified of how brilliant the Israelis were in executing this. It was planned for so long—Israel doesn’t play one-dimensional chess.”
“I’ve worked with Israeli intelligence services for years,” he shared. “This is part of a multi-systemic approach, one, two, seven steps ahead. They mapped out every possible outcome, and for the first time in the war, Iran must be thinking, ‘Maybe they can defeat us.’”

After the Iranian attack on Israel, Patel blamed U.S. President Joe Biden, accusing him of “allowing Iran back onto the international stage and enabling business as usual.” He stated, “Israel’s capabilities are extraordinary, but they cannot defeat Iran alone because it’s too large a machine. We need to stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel against Iran. When Trump returns to power, we will shut down the machine funneling money to Iran.
“There will be no hostages held by Hamas, Iran, or Hezbollah. We need America to wake up and prioritize Israel. We must end this war, bring the kidnapped Israelis and Americans home, and stand by our number one ally—and that’s exactly what Trump will do.”
