In Beitar, it was reported this morning (Thursday) that the victim of the shooting attack in Gush Etzion, Yehoshua Aharon Tuvia Simcha, may his memory be a blessing, was a 10-year-old boy, the son of Rabbi Zusha Simcha Shlita, head of the general Hasidic yeshiva in Beitar Illit.
As a reminder, a terrorist opened fire last night at a civilian Israeli bus at the Al-Hadar junction, the tunnels checkpoint, in Gush Etzion. Yehoshua Aharon Tuvia Simcha, a 10-year-old boy, was severely injured and his death was confirmed at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center. Two men, aged approximately 55 and 24, were injured by shrapnel and their condition is mild; another injured woman, about 40 years old, was evacuated for medical treatment at Shaare Zedek Hospital, with her condition defined as moderate. The IDF spokesperson stated that security forces initiated a chase after the terrorist.
Beitar mayor, Meir Rubinstein, said last night at the scene of the attack:
“We experienced a very difficult event. We thank the security forces for their numerous actions here day and night, and still, we request to enhance security arrangements on the routes and especially at checkpoint traffic. It is unacceptable for us to continue to stand like ducks in a shooting range.”
