According to an update from the IDF Spokesperson’s office, Division 91 forces, of the IDF Northern Command, are deployed in Southern Lebanon as part of efforts to protect northern communities and maintain ceasefire conditions, “The fighters are actively locating and eliminating threats, including the neutralization of armed militants and removing infrastructure that endangers the safety of residents in the area,” it was reported.
Destruction of an Underground Tunnel
In the announcement, it was stated that the IDF destroyed an underground tunnel intended to allow militants to reach a position from which they could fire on Israel. “Forces from Brigade 188 exposed and destroyed an underground infrastructure spanning dozens of meters, with an exit point leading to a firing position aimed at communities in Israeli territory,” it was noted. “During the operation, many weapons were discovered on-site, including mortars and rockets. The engineering forces of the brigade destroyed the underground infrastructure.”

Regarding the enforcement of the ceasefire against Hezbollah violations, the IDF spokesperson stated that in the past week, the forces have eliminated several armed militants in southern Lebanon who were found there in violation of the ceasefire conditions. “Brigade 769 continues extensive operations in southern Lebanon and in the defense of the communities in the “Finger of Galilee” (Northern Galilee communities geographically shaped like a finger). In the past week, the fighters located additional weapons and neutralized several armed militants who posed a threat to IDF forces,” the statement explained.
IDF Spokesperson in Arabic: Anyone Crossing South of the Line Will Be Harmed
In light of reports about attempts to restore the military capabilities of the terrorist organization, IDF Spokesperson in Arabic, Colonel Avikhai Edry, tweeted on platform X. In his message directed at Lebanese residents of the south, Edry reminded them that it is prohibited for them to move south, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the State of Lebanon.
“The IDF does not intend to harm you,” emphasized the IDF spokesperson in Arabic, “and therefore, at this stage, there is a prohibition on returning to your homes south of this line, until further notice.” Alongside this, Edry added: “Anyone who crosses south of this line will put themselves in danger.”
