Defense Minister at Northern Command: “This is the Only Way to an Agreement in Lebanon.”

During his visit, Israel Katz stated that if Hezbollah does not withdraw beyond the Litani River, there will be no agreement: "We will act resolutely to ensure the safe return of northern residents to their homes."

This morning (Sunday), Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the weapons exhibition seized by the IDF from the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon, currently displayed at the Northern Command. Katz received operational and intelligence updates on the IDF’s activities in Lebanon and commented on the ceasefire with the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

“Ensuring the Safe Return of Northern Residents to Their Homes”
During his visit to the Northern Command, Katz stated that “Israel is interested in maintaining the agreement in Lebanon and will continue to enforce it fully and without compromise to ensure the safe return of northern residents to their homes.” However, according to the Defense Minister, there is a crucial condition for the agreement to be upheld: “The complete withdrawal of the Hezbollah terrorist organization beyond the Litani River, the disarmament of all weapons, and the neutralization of terrorist infrastructures in the area by the Lebanese Army—something that has not happened yet.”

He added, “If this condition is not met—there will be no agreement—and Israel will be forced to act independently to ensure the safe return of northern residents to their homes. We will not allow the creation of a renewed threat to our northern settlements, and any citizens of the State of Israel.”
