During his visit to the Northern Command, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant assessed Hezbollah’s current state and the implications for the ongoing conflict. Gallant emphasized the organization’s growing weakness and the broad impact of IDF operations on the entire Middle East.
“Hezbollah is a leaderless terror organization. Nasrallah has been eliminated, and most likely, his successor too. There’s no one left to make decisions, no one to act. The firepower system that Hezbollah built over years with enormous Iranian investment has reached the point where Hezbollah is now comparable to where Hamas started, or even worse. There is fear, panic, retreat, and erosion within Hezbollah,” Gallant said in the command’s war room.
The Defense Minister highlighted the regional implications of the IDF’s actions, stating, “Our actions are being watched across the Middle East. When the smoke clears in Lebanon, Iran will realize they have lost their most valuable asset—Hezbollah.”

Gallant summarized the progress made since the war began a year ago: “Today, one year after the start of the war, the outcome is that Hamas is dismantled, Hezbollah is a battered and broken organization, without command and control capabilities or significant firepower. Security means that the residents can know there’s nothing on the other side that can endanger them. The actions you are taking will allow us to return the residents to their homes in safety when the time comes, and completely change the situation.”
Gallant’s statements reflect a broad strategic vision, not only addressing the immediate battlefield achievements but also considering the long-term consequences for regional balance and the ability to safely return residents to their homes.
