Defense Minister Yoav Gallant entered the Gaza Strip today, where he conducted an operational assessment at the Netzarim axis, near the central camps, alongside Southern Command Commander Major General Yaron Finkelman, Brigadier General Yehuda Vach, commander of the 252nd Division, and brigade commanders operating in the area. Gallant received a briefing from the commanders on recent activities aimed at expanding the corridor to secure forces and on raids targeting Hamas terrorists throughout the city of Gaza.

The Defense Minister spoke with reservists currently on their third reserve deployment since the start of the war and addressed the achievement of military objectives. “In Gaza, we need to achieve two goals – to eliminate Hamas and to bring back the hostages, and we are fully committed to this mission,” said Gallant, expressing gratitude to the soldiers. “Thank you very much for what you’re doing, and we will complete everything that needs to be done, but keep in mind – things can always change.”

He added, “At the same time, we are monitoring the entire warfront. This means that while you’re fighting here in Gaza, we are prepared for anything that might happen in the north. A shift in focus could happen quickly and may involve you, with a short notice, and we are ready for all these possibilities.”

“We will continue to press here, strike Hamas, wear them down, and eliminate them. We will reach Mohammad Sinwar and Yahya Sinwar – all of these terrorists, we will get to them. Anyone who thinks otherwise should look at Marwan Issa and Mohammad Deif, they also thought they were untouchable. They aren’t with us today. They made their mistake, and he [Sinwar] will make his mistake too.”
