The Netzarim corridor is a zone that was set up by the IDF during the current Gaza War. It extends from the area of Kibbutz Be’eri to the Mediterranean Sea, the land of the former Gush Katif community called Netzarim that was evacuated by Israel in 2005. The zone is up to 4 km in some places and it’s goal is to help establish security in Gaza by giving the IDF a base in the area. It also enables IDF soldiers to check Gazans who want to move from the Southern Gaza Strip to the North to ensure they aren’t armed terrorists.
