Gallant at the intelligence base in the north: “We are determined to remove the threats”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced last night (Tuesday) that he paid a visit to one of the intelligence bases in northern Israel. During the visit, Gallant revealed that the operation that led to the assassination of a senior Hezbollah official, Fouad Shukar, was carried out from this base. Following the assassination, the terrorist organization’s secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah promised revenge also on Haniyah’s elimination in Iran.

“I am now finishing a visit to one of the intelligence bases in the north of the country. It was from this place that the assassination of Hezbollah Chief of Staff Mohsin (Shukar’s nickname) was carried out. The people here are working very seriously and are engaged in preparations for anything that may happen,” said Gallant at the end of the visit, whose location is kept secret. “We are engaged in both removing the threats and preparing all options in order to be able to attack wherever we decide.”

Gallant emphasized the determination of the security establishment to ensure the safety of the citizens of Israel: “We are determined to fulfill our mission – we need to return the residents safely to their homes after we cause Hezbollah to withdraw north of the Litani River.” He added, “I am aware of the tensions and the great burden placed on the citizens of Israel, we follow what is happening – both in Beirut, and in Tehran, and in other places. Thanks to the people who are here at this base and in many places all over the country – at sea, on land, in the air, the citizens of Israel can To maintain a routine of life but to remain alert, vigilant, prepared and to obey the instructions of the Home Front Command.”

Gallant’s office reported that the Minister of Defense received an overview of the intelligence operations that led to the elimination of Shukar, who was Nasrallah’s right-hand man and the most senior officer in the terrorist organization’s military ranks. “Galant stood by the efforts to remove the threats and thwart Hezbollah terrorists throughout Lebanon,” it was reported.

Later, the IDF spokeswoman said that today “an Air Force aircraft attacked the area of ​​Reshish in southern Lebanon and killed two terrorists on the southern front of the terrorist organization Hezbollah”, and in addition the IDF attacked military buildings of Hezbollah in the areas of Shihin and Alma a-Sha’ab next to the N. 9 in the area of ​​Ayita a-Sha’ab.

Later, the Minister of Defense held a meeting with the commander of the Northern Command, Major General Uri Gordin “about the readiness and high alertness in all branches of the command”, as reported.
