Earlier today (Thursday), the Air Force attacked Hamas terrorists operating from a command and control center established in the municipal complex of Khan Yunis within the humanitarian area. This command and control center was used by Hamas terrorists to plan and execute terror operations against the IDF and the State of Israel. It is important to note that approximately three weeks ago and again last week, the Air Force also struck in the same humanitarian area.
Number of Hamas Terrorists in Gaza
Reported by Israeli channel N12 earlier today, many terrorists fled to the humanitarian area and are hiding in places where the IDF is less active. Furthermore, Hamas is still able to recruit operatives. They use humanitarian aid and money to entice them — which is hard to refuse, given the current situation in the Gaza Strip,
According to data from the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, there are still 9,000 organized terrorists operating throughout the Gaza Strip, half located in the northern brigade and half in the southern brigade. In addition, there are between 7,000 to 10,000 more terrorists scattered throughout the Strip whom are not as organized, along with about 4,000 members of Islamic Jihad and other organizations present throughout Gaza. An estimated total of between 20,000 to 23,000 terrorists are still currently active and fighting against IDF forces within the Strip.

The IDF stated that prior to the attack conducted today, many measures were taken to minimize the likelihood of harming civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence information. “The terrorist organization Hamas systematically violates international law while brazenly using civilian institutions and the population as human shields for terrorist activities. The IDF will continue to operate with strength and determination against terrorist organizations.”
