The Population and Immigration Authority recommended, and the Interior Minister approved:
Enrico Basilio, the bereaved father of Staff Sergeant (Res.) Cedric Green, who fell in January in the Gaza Strip, was granted permanent residency status in Israel this morning and received an Israeli ID card.
Cedric fell in a disaster when soldiers entered a booby-trapped house, resulting in the deaths of 21 soldiers. His father was recognized at the time as a bereaved parent and has now been granted permanent residency in Israel.
The initiative for this process came from MK Oded Forer of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, who pushed for approval through the Population and Immigration Authority, culminating in Interior Minister Moshe Arbel’s authorization.

Arbel stated, “The decision to grant Enrico permanent residency is a gesture of gratitude for Cedric’s bravery and sacrifice for the country. We will continue to stand by these families who raised their children to serve and defend the state.”
Ynet reporter Ran Boker shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account a photo of Enrico receiving his ID card at the Population Administration office in Tel Aviv.
