Heartwarming Celebration at Soroka: Birthday for an Armored Corps Officer Injured in Gaza

Itamar Gur, who was severely injured by an explosive device in Gaza, celebrated his birthday with the orthopedic department staff at Soroka Hospital. His father: "This was not something we could have imagined a month ago."

Itamar Gur, an Armored Corps officer who was critically injured a month ago by an explosive device in the Gaza Strip, had the chance to celebrate his birthday at Soroka Hospital, in Orthopedic Department B, where he is undergoing rehabilitation. The department staff, led by Head Nurse Lilia Grinshpon, organized a touching surprise that included a special cake, a balloon bouquet, and gifts. Itamar’s broad smile reflected his deep excitement. During the celebration, Itamar promised to share a taste of the special cake with his twin brother, Eyal, who is currently training with the Israeli Navy.

“Moments We Don’t Take for Granted”

Itamar’s father, Naveh, expressed his feelings about the special day: “We are so moved to celebrate with him and Eyal on his birthday.” He added that the family greatly appreciates the dedicated care the staff provided to Itamar and emphasized the significance of the moment by saying: “This was not something we could have imagined a month ago.”
