Hero of War: Staff Sergeant (Res.) Omar Moshe Galdor Killed in Lebanon

Staff Sergeant (Res.) Omar Moshe Galdor, a fighter in the Special Reconnaissance Unit (Unit 5111) of the Golani Brigade, fell in battle in southern Lebanon today (Tuesday) at the age of 30.

The IDF Spokesperson has cleared for publiation that Staff Sergeant (Res.) Omar Moshe Galdor, fell in battle in southern Lebanon earlier this morning (Tuesday). Omar, a resident of Jerusalem, served in the Special Reconnaissance Unit of the Golani Brigade and sacrificed his life for the security of the State of Israel. Galdor, is remembered as a dedicated and professional warrior who volunteered for reserve service as a soldier in the elite Unit 5111. He was part of an elite force assigned to complex and sensitive missions on the northern front.

Following his death, Omar was posthumously promoted from the rank of Corporal to Staff Sergeant, recognizing his devoted service and unwavering commitment to the State of Israel. The IDF expressed its deep condolences to the family and committed to supporting them moving forward.

It was also reported by the IDF Spokesperson that in the incident where Staff Sergeant (Res.) Omar Moshe Galdor fell, three reserve fighters from Unit 5111, Golani Brigade, were seriously injured. Meanwhile, the IDF continues to operate in Lebanon along with Division 98, near Kiryat Shmona, Division 36 the western border area, and Divisions 91 and 146 participating in targeted raids in various regions along the border.
