Hostage Deal: Reports of Compromises, but Gaps Still Remain

Today (Sunday), various media outlets both worldwide and in Israel are reporting signs of progress in the hostage deal negotiations, currently taking place in Qatar between Israel and Hamas. However, there are still terms gaps to be resolved, with the main obstacles including the list of hostages to be released in the first stage, and the conditions for the release of terrorists imprisoned in Israel.

Hamas Agreed to Include Reservist IDF Soldiers in the Deal
According to reports, Hamas has agreed to include reservists in the list of prisoners to be released in the deal, but they demand the release of senior terrorists in return. Palestinian sources are quoted as saying that compromises have been reached and that both sides are awaiting further approvals.

In the Knesset and the government, support has been expressed for efforts to complete the deal, emphasizing the importance of releasing the hostages while ensuring the country’s security. It is possible that some progress is being made, although caution is advised in managing expectations until official agreements are reached.
