In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a missile launched by the Houthis from Yemen triggered sirens across central Israel, including the Sharon region, Lachish, and the Shephelah areas. According to the IDF, multiple interception attempts were made, and the missile was likely neutralized. While there were no immediate reports of impacts, debris was later discovered near private homes in Mevo Beitar and Tzur Hadassah, with no physical injuries reported.

“Stay Away from Impact Sites”

Israel Police issued a statement urging the public to avoid impact areas and follow instructions from officers on the ground. Police bomb disposal units are en route to assess and secure the sites. Magen David Adom (MDA) teams treated 11 individuals injured while rushing to shelters and four others suffering from anxiety. Ben Gurion Airport temporarily halted operations, resuming full functionality after 25 minutes.

Recent Houthi Escalations

At 5:15 a.m., another Red Alert was triggered in Netiv HaAsara near the Gaza border, later identified as a false alarm. On Monday evening, sirens sounded in Samaria and the Jordan Valley following another missile launch from Yemen, which the Israeli Air Force intercepted before it crossed into Israeli airspace. Earlier that day, the Air Force also intercepted a drone launched from Yemen in southern Israel.

IDF Operations in Yemen

The three Houthi missile and drone launches come on the heels of extensive IDF airstrikes in Yemen over the weekend. These strikes, a joint operation involving the Air Force, Military Intelligence, and the Navy, targeted key strategic infrastructure used by the Houthis, including the Hejaz power station—a vital energy hub for their military activities—and critical ports like Ras Isa and Hodeidah.

Israel’s strikes follow a series of Houthi attacks involving drones and missiles aimed at Israeli territory, highlighting the escalating tensions. Analysts suggest Israel may need to take further action deep within Yemen to neutralize ongoing threats.
