Following several Hezbollah attacks yesterday (Thursday), in which Major (res.) Nail Fuarasa and Sergeant Tomer Keren were killed, and several homes in Metula were damaged, the Israeli Air Force is now striking dozens of targets in multiple waves across southern Lebanon. Dozens of fighter jets are participating in the extensive and coordinated assault, targeting locations simultaneously in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.

The IDF Spokesperson addressed the first wave of strikes in Lebanon yesterday evening (Thursday) in a statement: “Air Force fighter jets, guided by intelligence, struck about 30 launchers and Hezbollah military infrastructure, which contained around 150 launchers intended for immediate firing towards Israeli territory. In addition, military buildings and a weapons storage facility belonging to the organization were attacked in several areas in southern Lebanon. The IDF also launched artillery fire in the Al-Naqoura area. The IDF will continue to degrade Hezbollah’s capabilities and harm the organization.”

IDF Spokesperson in an unusual announcement: Training areas in the north to be closed

In an unusual statement, the IDF Spokesperson announced that IDF forces will begin a series of training exercises in the north. “During the weekend, the IDF will conduct activities in training areas (firing zones) in the northern sector. We emphasize that entry into these training areas is prohibited, poses a life-threatening risk, and disrupts the forces’ activities. Additionally, the sounds of gunfire and explosions may be heard in nearby communities. The IDF strongly urges the public not to enter the restricted areas and to allow security forces to carry out their missions – entering is a life-threatening hazard. It is important to note that if unexploded ordnance is encountered, the instruction is to stay away and report it to the Israel Police. Unexploded ordnance poses a life-threatening danger as it may contain explosives. These guidelines save lives.”
