In the Samaria Regional Council, approximately 250 MDA volunteers operate dozens of ambulances in communities and MDA stations to provide a rapid response to a variety of medical emergencies—from childbirth to treating victims of terrorist attacks. Since the Iron Swords war, medical teams risk their lives during their duties, as terrorists often target rescue forces to prevent life-saving efforts. In response to this issue, a ceremony was held today (Tuesday) to inaugurate three bulletproof ambulances donated to MDA. These ambulances will be stationed in the communities of Samaria.
Ambulance Locations: Shavei Shomron, Revava, and Mevo Dotan
The new ambulances represent a significant addition to the medical equipment in the regional council and will be stationed in Shavei Shomron, Revava, and Mevo Dotan. Two of the ambulances were donated by the Akiva Foundation of Switzerland through the Friends of MDA in Israel, and one was donated by the organization Samaritan’s Purse in memory of Hirsch Goldberg-Polin, who was kidnapped and murdered by Hamas terrorists.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating: “The new ambulances are a critical addition to strengthening readiness and improving security in the area.”

MDA World President Gilad Erdan stressed the significance of the locations chosen for the ambulances. According to him: “Here in Judea and Samaria, civilians are on the front lines every day, and the bulletproof ambulances are especially important to ensure MDA teams can reach every location where medical treatment is needed. I am proud that we are inaugurating these ambulances here in Samaria, as they will also help to continue strengthening Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria.”
A Proper Response Is Needed from the Ministry of Finance, and Discussions Are Underway
Eli Bin, Director General of MDA, expressed his gratitude to the donors, stating that without their contributions, the ambulances and many other significant projects would not have been realized. Bin noted that while donor funding for medical equipment and ambulance purchases is substantial, a proper response is required from the Ministry of Finance, and discussions are ongoing. “I know that the current Minister of Finance supports Magen David Adom. He is a person who has accompanied the organization fairly since his days as Minister of Transportation. I appreciate his support and hope for continued fruitful cooperation to strengthen MDA so we can continue saving lives throughout the country,” he concluded.
