This evening (Monday), reports emerged of a series of airstrikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force on several targets in Damascus, particularly at the al-Sayyidah Zaynab site. According to Syrian opposition reports, the strikes targeted a Hezbollah intelligence headquarters, reportedly operating in cooperation with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards. Preliminary reports indicate that at least seven people were affected in the incident. Within hours, the IDF took official responsibility for the strike in Syria which is a relatively unusual move in recent years. Notably, after Israel’s recent attacks on Iran and Syria about two weeks ago, the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of operation has significantly increased, with various anti-aircraft sites linked to the Iranian axis being neutralized.

Iran’s response to this attack, which was expected before the U.S. presidential election (tomorrow), has yet to materialize. Iranian military and political leaders have hinted that the counterattack may come from Iraqi territory, aiming to distance Iraq from direct confrontation with Israel. However, various reports suggest Iraq is currently on high alert, not for an attack on Israel, but rather for an anticipated Israeli preemptive strike in response to these developments—demonstrating Israel’s strategic superiority over the Shiite axis.

Meanwhile, the IDF has continued its strong, targeted strikes against Hezbollah across Lebanon in the past 24 hours. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, the death toll in Lebanon has surpassed 3,000, most of whom are reportedly Hezbollah operatives or closely affiliated with Hezbollah. At least five explosive drones were launched toward Israel, all intercepted by the Air Force and air defense systems. Several senior operatives were eliminated, including Riyad Reza Razawi, a senior figure in the Radwan Unit’s anti-tank division. The IDF’s Alexandroni Brigade’s engineering corps also released a striking video of the simultaneous destruction of a tunnel network, positions, and weapons depots. From Lebanon and Damascus to Iraq and Iran, Israel is delivering powerful blows.
