Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs recently led efforts to persuade the Brazilian Parliament to pressure local authorities to dismiss claims and lawsuits targeting Israeli soldiers visiting the country. These efforts prompted IDF soldiers to leave Brazil several days ago. However, today (Tuesday), the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs announced that Brazilian police confirmed they would not arrest the soldier. This marks a significant legal victory for Israel, which continues to face international legal challenges, ranging from lawsuits by other nations (such as South Africa) to arrest warrants for senior officials (including the Prime Minister) and investigations into rank-and-file soldiers.
Israel Exposes: Hinda Rajab Fund—Linked to Hezbollah
The effort involved a detailed investigation into those behind the petition against the IDF soldiers. The inquiry exposed the Hinda Rajab Fund, a pro-Palestinian organization dedicated to tracking IDF soldiers who shared videos of themselves from the Gaza Strip, aiming to promote legal actions against them when visiting foreign countries. The Diaspora Ministry submitted a report to the Brazilian Parliament linking the fund to terrorist organizations, led by a former Hezbollah operative.

Minister Amichai Chikli personally approached Eduardo Bolsonaro, a member of Brazil’s Parliament and son of former President Jair Bolsonaro. Both are known for their strong pro-Israel stance.
Minister Chikli: “We Will Continue to Expose Terror Supporters”
Minister Chikli emphasized that public pressure and the exposure of terror-affiliated organizations were successful. “Thanks to the Diaspora Ministry’s report, our fight against antisemitism, and support from our friend in the Brazilian Parliament, Bolsonaro, the world was exposed to a report that sent shockwaves and embarrassed Brazil’s hostile Lula administration.
“We will not hesitate, remain silent, or relent. We will continue exposing the ugly face of terror supporters and pursue anyone who tries to harm IDF soldiers or the State of Israel. The truth is on our side—and it will prevail.”
