Due to the situation in the north, the team was hosted at the newly inaugurated training complex. Maccabi Haifa CEO Itzik Ovadia said: “We are deeply grateful to the Hadera Municipality and Hapoel Hadera for their warm hospitality. From the moment we reached out for help, we were met with a listening ear and, most importantly, a generous heart and appropriate support.”
At the start of the week, following changes to the safety guidelines from Haifa and northward, Maccabi Haifa officials contacted Yakir Schwartz of Hapoel Hadera to request the use of the new training facility, which was inaugurated just a few months ago. Schwartz passed the request to Ela Bear, the head of the Municipal Sports Department, who received approval from Mayor Nir Ben Haim to host the Haifa team and allow them to train in Hadera.
Given the situation, the Hadera Municipality provided Haifa with access to the facility and support staff, while Hapoel Hadera supplied the training equipment, allowing Maccabi Haifa to maintain a sense of routine and continue training as usual.

Maccabi Haifa CEO Itzik Ovadia added: “We are deeply thankful to the Hadera Municipality and Hapoel Hadera for their respectful hospitality. From the very first moment we reached out, we were met with open ears, wide hearts, and proper support. Especially during these difficult days, it’s not something to take for granted, and we greatly appreciate it.”
The coaching staff and players from Haifa were highly impressed with the new training complex in Hadera, which was inaugurated less than a year ago at a cost of around 62 million shekels. Some even remarked that if it were up to them, they would be happy to train at such a facility even when there’s no conflict in the north.
