The IDF has permitted the publication of the death of Maj. Maksim (Moshiko) Rosenwald, a reservist company commander in Battalion 7107, the engineering battalion of the Nahal Brigade. Moshiko was 35 years old and a resident of Modiin. Along with him, another soldier was killed, whose name has not yet been cleared for publication.

Rosenwald was killed in Rafah, where the Nahal Brigade has been stationed for several months. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when a reserve unit under his leadership entered a dilapidated building, which collapsed on the soldiers. The IDF did not identify any involvement of terrorists or explosive traps; the assumption is that the old building was further weakened during airstrikes in the area or due to the frequent movement of armored vehicles nearby.

Rosenwald was a respected officer who was loved by his soldiers. He was promoted to the rank of Major in a ceremony held in April 2023, less than six months before the war. May his memory be a blessing.
