Combat forces from the 769th Brigade, under the command of the 91st Division, located and destroyed a significant weapons depot last week in the Saluki area, which flows into the Litani River in the Nabatieh Governorate of Lebanon. Today (Tuesday) during the operation, IDF forces uncovered a major weapons cache concealed in a very hard-to-access area. The operation was conducted as part of the fight against Hezbollah terrorism and in accordance with the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
Huge Weapons Depot Uncovered with Dozens of Kalashnikov Rifles, Mines, Grenades, and Advanced Equipment
During field searches led by Golani fighters and the Erez Program combatants, a variety of dangerous weapons were discovered, including missile launchers, explosive devices, and guided missiles. Additional raids on nearby buildings revealed another massive weapons depot containing dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, mines, grenades, and advanced observation equipment. Notably, the area where the operation was conducted is known for being the site of one of the toughest battles during the Second Lebanon War.
The IDF Spokesperson commented on the operation in southern Lebanon: “Our forces destroyed the located weapons depots and equipment, thereby successfully eliminating a significant potential threat. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to prevent the strengthening of terrorist infrastructure on the northern border and protect Israel’s security.”
