A Pakistani terrorist residing in Canada was arrested last Wednesday while attempting to cross into the United States, with the intent to carry out a mass shooting at the Chabad World Headquarters in New York on October 7th – the anniversary of Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel. Late Friday night, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that an indictment had been filed against him, revealing that he is an ISIS supporter who “planned to kill as many Jews and Israelis as possible.”

According to the indictment, Mohammed Shahzeb Khan, also known as Shahzeb Jadoon, planned to enter the U.S. and use automatic and semi-automatic weapons to carry out a mass killing at the Chabad World Headquarters in Brooklyn. The U.S. Department of Justice stated that Khan chose New York as the target for his terrorist attack because “it has the largest Jewish population in America.”

He was arrested last Wednesday in Canada as he attempted to cross the U.S. border near the town of Ormstown, in Quebec, using three different cars to evade security forces. Khan is scheduled to appear before a court in Montreal on September 13th. The investigation is being led by the FBI, in cooperation with Canadian security authorities, and the U.S. is now working to extradite him for trial. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
