Israeli Cinema Day, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Cinema Association, returns this year to delight cinema lovers across the nation. Movie theaters around the country will be filled with eager audiences, enjoying a rich selection of quality Israeli films at the special price of 10 shekels per ticket. This event, now in its second year, offers a rare opportunity for the public to watch highly anticipated premieres and discover the best of contemporary Israeli cinema.
As part of Israeli Cinema Day, more than 40 new Israeli films will be shown in cinemas, cinematheques, and cultural centers throughout the country. The diverse cinematic experience includes exclusive premieres of films yet to be released, as well as recent releases. Screenings will start in the morning and continue until the theaters close, allowing audiences to enjoy the event all day long.
Among the standout films being screened is *Close to Me*, the leading contender at the 2024 Ophir Awards with 12 nominations, which will have a nationwide pre-release screening. Other highly anticipated films include The Ring directed by Adir Miller, Good Guys 2, The Property directed by Dana Modan, The Straight Road, Halisa, Jaffa Pictures, and Soda. Additionally, the documentary The Little Meadow, which won the Docaviv Festival, will also be shown.
