A new and significant initiative is being launched, aimed at addressing a unique group within bereaved families: the grandparents. Yad LaBanim, in cooperation with the Ministry for Social Equality and the Advancement of Women, is establishing dedicated therapeutic groups for grandparents whose grandchildren fell during their service in the security forces. The program, which is free of charge, includes up to 12 sessions and is designed to provide emotional support and tools for coping with the unique and complex loss of a grandchild.

As part of the initiative, bereaved grandparents are invited to participate in therapeutic groups at no cost. Each group will include up to 12 sessions, aimed at offering emotional support, coping tools, and a safe space for sharing and processing experiences.

The group therapy will be led by professional therapists experienced in bereavement and loss. The sessions will be held in various centers across the country to make the service accessible to as many families as possible.

Registration for the therapeutic groups will open in the coming weeks. Grandparents interested in participating or seeking additional information are invited to contact the Yad LaBanim hotline or visit the organization’s website.

This initiative joins a range of support programs run by Yad LaBanim, aimed at providing comprehensive and tailored assistance to all family members coping with the loss of loved ones who fell in service to the state.
