Northern Israel: National Parks Have Begun Opening for Visitors

The Nature and Parks Authority announced that tomorrow a second phase of sites in the north will open, following the first phase last week in which seven sites were reopened.

In accordance with the Home Front Command’s guidelines, the Nature and Parks Authority will open five additional sites in northern Israel tomorrow (Tuesday) after completing restoration and preparation work to accommodate new visitors and ensure their safety.

This opening represents the second phase of reopening sites after seven additional sites that had been closed due to fighting in the north were reopened last week. However, the Ayun Stream Nature Reserve remains closed due to significant damage sustained in recent months.

List of Sites Opening Tomorrow:
1. Hermon Stream Nature Reserve – Banias
2. Tel Dan Nature Reserve
3. Snir Stream Nature Reserve
4. Hurshat Tal National Park
5. Ein Afek Nature Reserve

Director of the Nature and Parks Authority: “Significant Tourism Anchors”
The director of the Nature and Parks Authority, Raya Shurki, commented on the second phase of site reopenings in the north, emphasizing their importance for the region’s recovery. She stated, “The nature and heritage sites in the north are significant tourism anchors in the recovery process.” Shurki added that the Authority’s employees have worked tirelessly to protect the reserves during this challenging period and prepare them to welcome the public. She encouraged the public to visit and enjoy the stunning nature sites in the north, thereby supporting local communities.

Safety Guidelines for Visitors

The Nature and Parks Authority reminds the public that due to the recent conflict, unexploded missiles or other suspicious objects may be found in open areas. Visitors must avoid any contact with such objects, and in case of identifying an unexploded missile or suspicious item, report immediately to the Israel Police at 100 and move to a safe area.
