After two days of extensive strikes, the IDF announced this evening (Tuesday) that the Air Force has completed a series of large-scale operations in Syria as part of Operation “Arrow of Bashan,” which began late Saturday night. According to IDF sources, hundreds of strategic targets were struck across the war-torn country. Details of the operation were kept under operational secrecy until now.
80% Destruction
As part of “Arrow of Bashan,” 350 Air Force fighter jets attacked and destroyed 320 strategic targets in Syria, including aircraft, coastal defense missiles, underground facilities, ships, and additional capabilities. Dozens of strikes targeted Syrian aircraft, weapons manufacturing facilities, and weapons depots. Various types of missiles, radars, tanks, and surface-to-air missile batteries were also destroyed.
The Navy also participated in the operation, destroying advanced Syrian naval vessels at two locations: Latakia and Minet al-Bayda. The IDF noted that the targets had been under long-term intelligence surveillance and included dozens of sea-to-sea missiles with ranges of 80-100 kilometers.

“I Authorized the Air Force to Bomb Strategic Military Capabilities”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated this evening that Israel has no intention of interfering in Syria’s internal affairs, but the government will do everything necessary to ensure the nation’s security.
“As part of this, I authorized the Air Force to bomb the strategic military capabilities left behind by the Syrian army to prevent them from falling into the hands of jihadists,” said Netanyahu.
He added: “We seek relations with the new regime in Syria. However, if this regime allows Iran to re-establish itself in Syria, transfers Iranian weapons or any other arms to Hezbollah, or attacks us, we will respond with force and impose a heavy price. What happened to the previous regime will happen to this one as well.”

“Whoever Follows Assad’s Path Will End Like Assad”
Earlier today, Defense Minister Israel Katz visited the Haifa Naval Base. “In recent days, the IDF has been operating in Syria to damage and destroy strategic capabilities that threaten the State of Israel. Last night, the Navy successfully destroyed the Syrian fleet.”
Katz warned Syria’s rebel leaders: “Whoever follows Assad’s path will end like Assad. We will not allow an extreme Islamic terrorist entity to operate against Israel across its border, endangering its citizens. We will do whatever is necessary to eliminate the threat.”
The Defense Minister stated that the IDF is now consolidating its presence in the buffer zone and key areas to protect the residents of the Golan Heights and Israeli citizens. “Together with the Prime Minister, I instructed the IDF to establish a sterile defense zone free of weapons and terrorist threats in southern Syria, without a permanent Israeli presence, to prevent the establishment and organization of terrorism in Syria. We will not allow a reality similar to what existed in Lebanon and Gaza before October 7. We will not allow threats to the State of Israel and will continue to act with full force to eliminate these threats.”
