In Bnei Brak, at the residence of Rabbi Dov Lando, one of the leaders of the Orthodox-Lithuanian community, Rosh Yeshiva and member of the Yeshiva Committee, a moving prayer was held this week (Monday) for the families of the abductees who have been held captive by Hamas in the Gaza Strip for over 9 months.

The meeting began with the recitation of chapters of the Psalms by Rabbi Lando, who read each and every verse with great intention and excitement. After that, the rabbi received the names of the abductees and prayed in a special way for each and every one of them. In addition, he wished that they would be released soon when they are safe and sound and added that efforts should be made for them, since it is a question of saving lives and the mitzvah of redeeming prisoners.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the families of the abductees, including Yigal Sarosi, Almog’s father, Sharon Sharabi, whose brother Yossi was kidnapped to the Gaza Strip, Eliyahu Cohen, the father of Sapir, who was released from captivity in a previous deal, and a number of other families who are waiting for the return of their children.

The gathering and prayer were part of the extensive efforts to return the abductees to their homes, and Rabbi Lando assured the families that he would continue to pray and take all necessary measures for the quick and safe return of their children.

Yesterday evening (Wednesday) thousands of people, including relatives of abductees’ families, marched from Ibn Gvirol Street to Sha’ar Shaul in Bekaria holding signs with pictures of abductees, calling on the Prime Minister to reach a deal before his expected trip to Washington next week.

At the same time, the Shas sent a letter to Netanyahu in order to encourage him to come to a deal because now is the right time for it due to the military pressure applied and the assassinations carried out by the IDF. “Don’t be afraid of the voices in the coalition that oppose the deal. The faction strengthens you to continue to act responsibly for the mitzvot of ransoming captives, which is second to none. We congratulate you on your important trip to the United States to faithfully represent Israel’s position on this important stage, and for the fact that you include the families of the abductees with your trip, and we are sure that the trip This will help a lot to promote the kidnapping deal and bring it to a conclusion soon, with God’s help,” it was written.
