Palestinian reports indicate that an American pro-Palestinian activist of Turkish descent was killed today (Friday) by IDF fire in Samaria. According to reports, she was hit in the head as IDF forces dispersed the weekly demonstration near the Evyatar settlement, close to which violent riots by Arab rioters took place that the IDF had to disperse by force.

The activist was later transferred to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus by ambulance teams, where she was admitted to intensive care and died from her injury. In addition, it was claimed that an 18-year-old Palestinian youth was injured by shrapnel during the clashes. The deceased activist, who held American citizenship and was of Turkish descent, was a volunteer with the “Fazaa” campaign, aimed at supporting and protecting Palestinian farmers from “military and settler violations.”

The IDF spokesperson responded: “During security forces’ activity near Beita, the forces responded with fire towards a central instigator who was throwing stones at them and posed a threat to our forces. There is an investigation into the claim that a foreign civilian was killed by gunfire in the area; the details of the event and the circumstances of her injury are under review.”

A month ago, another American activist named Amando Sison was injured in the leg by IDF fire during a protest at the same location.
