The Israeli terrorist drew inspiration from the events of “Operation Guardian of the Walls,” during which incidents of terrorism among Israeli Arabs occurred. His commitment to terrorist activity was further reinforced during the current conflict. Bushkar admitted to learning bomb-making techniques through online content. He purchased explosive materials, conducted several experiments, and successfully produced TATP, a highly volatile explosive commonly used by Palestinian terror organizations in attacks against Israel. Among the materials seized were a handgun, ammunition, and equipment for constructing explosive devices.
Though Bushkar acted independently, he tried unsuccessfully to recruit others to assist in his plans. He had constructed a pipe bomb and was preparing to assemble a full explosive belt for a planned attack. Thanks to the swift intervention of Israeli security forces, his plans were stopped before any harm could be done.
Maximum Punishment Expected; Life in Prison
The indictment, filed today, accuses Bushkar of charges including attempting to harm state security, manufacturing and possessing explosive materials, and supporting terrorism. These crimes carry penalties ranging from 15 years in prison to life imprisonment. His confession, combined with the evidence recovered, is expected to strengthen the case and likely result in a severe sentence. This operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Israeli security forces to safeguarding the country and preventing terror attacks. The successful arrest underscores Israel’s ability to detect threats early and neutralize them before they can cause harm to civilians.
