For the first time since the start of the war, this morning (Wednesday), rocket alerts were activated in Gush Dan and the Sharon following the launch of a surface-to-surface missile from Lebanon. The missile was successfully intercepted by Israel’s air defense system.

The northern escalation follows the assassination of Ibrahim Kabisiy, the head of Hezbollah’s missile division, in an Israeli strike in Beirut. According to reports, other senior officials in the organization were also killed in the strike. In response, Hezbollah launched about 300 rockets towards Israel over the last 24 hours.

Simultaneously, a drone infiltrated the Sapir settlement in the Arava, and alarms were activated in the Golan Heights as well. The IDF responded with extensive strikes in Lebanon.

On the international front, U.S. President Joe Biden called for an end to the war in Gaza. “The war in Gaza needs to end. The hostages must return home, and Gaza must be free from Hamas’ rule,” the president said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu postponed his trip to the United States by one day. According to a statement from his office, Netanyahu will leave for his UN speech tomorrow (Thursday) instead of tonight, and will return on Saturday evening. During the day, the Prime Minister will hold consultations with security officials to discuss the continued strikes in Lebanon.

The tense security situation is also affecting daily life in various areas across the country. However, the IDF spokesperson announced that as of now, there are no changes in Home Front Command guidelines in the center of the country, and schools will continue as usual.
