Senior White House official: “Close to a cease-fire in Gaza. Sinwar – a terrorist”

The spokesman for the US National Security Council, John Kirby, expressed optimism about the possibility of a ceasefire in Gaza, while referring to Sinwar as a terrorist and emphasizing the need to complete the negotiations between the parties.

In a briefing for reporters at the White House today (Wednesday), John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council of the United States, expressed cautious optimism about the possibility of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. “We are closer than ever to a ceasefire,” Kirb said.

Kirby also addressed the question of the appointment of Yahya Sinwar to a senior position in Hamas, saying: “He is a terrorist who always made the decisions.” This comment emphasizes the clear American position towards the Hamas leadership.

Kirby emphasized the need to complete the negotiations, saying: “We believe that Israel and Hamas need to do the final stages of the work to end this event.”
