The IDF spokesperson reported today (Sunday) that there was a shooting attack in the Allenby Crossing area within the Jordan Valley and Emek HaMaayanot Brigade.
According to Zaki Heller, a spokesperson for Magen David Adom (MDA), shortly after the event, he stated: “This is a very severe incident.” He added, “Our medics are on the scene, treating three victims, men around 50 years old, who are in critical condition with gunshot wounds – the terrorist was neutralized.”
The shooting occurred at the cargo terminal, where trucks pass from Jordan to Israel.

After resuscitation efforts, MDA paramedics, in collaboration with the IDF medical team, pronounced the deaths of the three men who were critically injured.
Yotam Tzur, an MDA emergency medical technician, recounted the tragic scene: “This is a very difficult incident. We saw three men lying unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds. Together with the IDF medical team, we performed resuscitation efforts, but unfortunately, we had to pronounce their deaths on the scene.”
After announcing the deaths of the victims, the IDF spokesperson further clarified that “a short while ago, a terrorist arrived via Jordan in a truck toward the Allenby Crossing in the Jordan Valley and Emek HaMaayanot Brigade, exited the truck, and opened fire at the forces securing the crossing. The terrorist was neutralized by security forces, and the deaths of several Israeli civilians were confirmed as a result of the attack.” The spokesperson also noted that “IDF forces are now working to ensure the truck was not rigged with explosives. Further details will be provided later.”
David Elhayani, head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council, commented on the attack, stating, “This is a very difficult incident with a tragic outcome. We know that it involved a Jordanian truck driver who got out of his truck, pulled out a gun, emptied one magazine, and reloaded a second. The result is very grim with three fatalities. We are aware that in Jordan, there is an Arab population originally from Judea and Samaria that supports Hamas. They also celebrated the vile murders on October 7.”
He added, “We are studying the incident to ensure that such events don’t recur. The Jordanian front is definitely the focus of attention for the Central Command, and they are prepared. The Allenby Crossing is supposed to be a passage of peace, but we have known attacks of this kind in the past as well.”
The Yesha Council, in response to the attack, stated: “This horrific attack this morning continues the disturbing trend of Iran’s efforts to activate the eastern border of Judea and Samaria as another combat front. We once again call on the Israeli government to wake up and fight in Judea and Samaria as they are fighting in Gaza – to act forcefully against the population from which terrorism arises and to address the eastern border with Jordan, which has been neglected.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir responded after the attack, saying, “With great sorrow, I received the tragic news that three Israelis were murdered at the Allenby terminal by a despicable terrorist. I send my condolences and a warm embrace to the families and friends. The war we are in is not only against Gaza and Hezbollah but also in Judea and Samaria. Just last week, I asked the Prime Minister to include victory in Judea and Samaria as one of the war’s objectives, and I will continue to fight to ensure that happens.”
The Jordanian Ministry of Interior announced an investigation into the shooting incident. Simultaneously, security forces surrounded Jericho, located about 5 kilometers east of the crossing, to search for additional terrorists or accomplices who might be in the area.
