The ceremony, marking the sixth night of Hanukkah, is being held today (Monday) in the Chagall Hall at the Knesset. The event, hosted by Iris Chaim, the mother of the late Yotam Chaim, who was kidnapped and accidentally killed by IDF fire, includes the presentation of certificates of appreciation by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana to six heroes:
– Yair Wisner, a member of the emergency response team and resident of Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, who was seriously injured by an RPG while defending his kibbutz on October 7.
– Ben Ledani, who immigrated to Israel from South Africa to enlist in the Oketz Unit, was critically wounded in the battle in Jabalia and lost his canine partner during the encounter.
– Zohar Kochavi, who survived the Nova festival massacre but was injured twice while serving in the reserves during the war.
– Michelle Rokovitzin, a commander at the Kissufim base, who was critically injured during a terrorist attack on the base.
– Rimon Kedem, an 18-year-old resident of Kibbutz Be’eri, who survived the October 7 attack with his parents, locked in a safe room for 16 hours while their house burned.
– Sapir Bloch, the widow of the late Yedidya Bloch, who succumbed to his wounds after a battle in southern Lebanon. His organs were donated to save others.
