Music turned into a life-saving mission: David Abuzamil, a United Hatzalah EMT and professional DJ, was called directly from a performance in Netanya to assist a 40-year-old man suffering from a severe allergic reaction that put his life in danger. Using an EpiPen, Abuzamil quickly stabilized the man’s condition, enabling his safe transfer to a hospital for further care.

The dramatic incident occurred on Yechizkel Ben Buzi Street in Netanya, where the man experienced a critical allergic reaction. United Hatzalah’s dispatch identified that Abuzamil was nearby and urgently called him to the scene.

“I was in the middle of a performance as part of my work as a DJ,” said Abuzamil. He immediately left the event and arrived at the scene with Aaron Avital, another EMT who was with him at the time. “I provided life-saving medical assistance using an EpiPen. Thanks to the rapid response and the use of the EpiPen, his condition stabilized, and he was later transported to the hospital for further treatment and testing.”

The EpiPen: A Life-Saving Emergency Tool

An EpiPen auto-injector is a medical device used to administer a measured dose of adrenaline (epinephrine) in cases of anaphylaxis—a severe allergic reaction that can lead to airway obstruction and immediate life-threatening conditions. The adrenaline delivered through the EpiPen acts quickly to prevent airway closure, constrict blood vessels, and enhance blood flow.

Thanks to this rapid intervention, another life was saved in the crucial moments of an emergency.
