Hundreds of thousands of shekels were donated today (Sunday) for the bereaved families from the Majdal Shams disaster, in which 12 children were killed last night by Hezbollah rocket fire from Lebanon while they were playing soccer. In the crowdfunding campaign, initiated by Yaya Fink, more than 300,000 shekels were donated by different donors.

Meanwhile, Microsoft and its employees in Israel donated more than a quarter of a million shekels for the bereaved families and the council community.

“The disaster in Majdal Shams is the disaster of all of us,” said Yaya Pink.

The CEO of Microsoft Israel, Michal Braverman-Blumenstick said that “the heart was torn this morning by seeing the children and boys who were killed last night in Majdal Shams being laid to rest, and the mind simply refuses to believe the difficult images of small coffins. It’s unimaginable.”

Braverman-Blumenstick also added that “in the last few hours, Microsoft and its employees have already donated about a quarter of a million shekels to support the bereaved families and the Majdal Shams community. This is our moral duty – these innocent children, who just wanted to play soccer, are part of us. Their families are part of us. Always And especially today it is important that we stand by their side. I have no doubt that many other organizations and people from around the country will join us and work for them.”
