Numerous Jews and Israelis participated in Trump’s inauguration today (Sunday), following Trump’s rare decision to include foreign leaders and guests in the ceremony – in contrast to his predecessors, who generally avoided diplomatic politicization at the event.

Among the attendees were members of the Yesha Council delegation, families of American hostages, and two prominent religious leaders. Rabbi Ari Berman, a former resident of Efrat and current president of Yeshiva University, became the first Israeli to deliver a speech at a U.S. presidential inauguration.

A Triumphant Return to the White House
Four years after leaving office in turmoil, Donald Trump is returning to the White House as the 47th President of the United States. The inauguration is took place this evening (Monday) at 7:00 PM Israel time in the Capitol Rotunda, presided over by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Trump, along with his wife Melania, began the day with a prayer service at a church in Washington and later met outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House.

Inauguration Moved Indoors Due to Weather
Originally planned to take place outdoors on Capitol Hill before an audience of 250,000 spectators, the ceremony was moved indoors due to freezing weather.

This is the first time since 1985 that the inauguration was held indoors, with attendance limited to just 600 people. Millions of people around the world watched the event live.
