This morning (Monday), an earthquake was felt in Syria following a powerful Israeli Air Force strike near the city of Tartus, according to Syrian media outlets.
The tremor, which was strongly felt, likely resulted from the targeting of ammunition depots, leading to a massive explosion and subsequent fires in the depots. Residents of the area described the explosion as so intense that they initially believed it to be an actual earthquake.
Earlier in the night, reports surfaced of the IDF striking military sites in Tartus, located in western Syria. Footage circulated showing large fires spreading across the area due to the raid, with thick smoke billowing above the homes in the Syrian port city.
