Ahead of Yom Kippur 5785, the Home Front Command has published important guidelines for the citizens of Israel and local authorities regarding the receipt of alerts and life-saving instructions during the holiday.

The Home Front Command emphasizes the importance of accessibility to one of the following means for receiving alerts and updates in case of an emergency. The recommendations focus on ways to receive real-time information, even when traditional communication channels are unavailable.

– Silent Wave: Listening to dedicated radio stations.
– Alerts on Personal Computers: Via the National Emergency Portal.
– Home Front Command App: For mobile phones.

These means will continue to operate throughout the holiday, providing real-time alerts, instructions, and essential information.

Last week, a trial emergency message was sent by the Home Front Command. The purpose of this message is to guide the public a few minutes before receiving an official alert, allowing time to reach a sheltered space. In the event of such a message, one should remain in the sheltered area until receiving a new instruction, even if more than 10 minutes have passed. These messages will be transmitted through the Personal Message System (CB) and the Home Front Command app, without any action required from the user.

The Home Front Command reminds the public to continue following the guidelines published through official distribution channels. The most complete and updated guidelines are always available on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app.

During this period of heightened security tension, it is especially important to stay informed and be prepared for any scenario. The Home Front Command urges the public to prepare in advance and ensure access to one of the recommended communication channels to guarantee the receipt of essential information even during Yom Kippur.
