Over the past week, the IDF’s 146th Reserve Division demonstrated its impressive capabilities in combating terrorist infrastructures in southern Lebanon. The forces, comprising battle teams from various brigades, operated resolutely in challenging mountainous terrain, delivering a significant blow to Hezbollah’s capabilities.
The 146th Division, made up of the ‘Carmeli,’ ‘Iron Fist,’ 300, and 646 Brigades, is the first reserve division to operate in southern Lebanon in the current campaign. The division’s achievements are impressive: over 100 militants killed, dozens of tunnels and underground terrorist infrastructures identified and destroyed, along with over 50 launchers and 60 Hezbollah command centers.
A particularly notable success was recorded by the ‘Iron Fist’ Brigade (205), which discovered a remarkable underground infrastructure. The tunnel, about 120 meters long and two meters deep, was found half a kilometer inside Lebanese territory. It included advanced infrastructure such as electricity, ventilation shafts, and storage rooms for weapons and ammunition, indicating Hezbollah’s ability to sustain prolonged underground activity.
The discovery and destruction of the tunnel emphasize the effectiveness of the IDF’s targeted raids in southern Lebanon. The tunnel was identified months ago but was destroyed only now as part of the current operation, demonstrating meticulous planning and accurate intelligence gathering.
This IDF activity represents a significant blow to Hezbollah’s operational capabilities, reducing the threat to Israeli citizens. It demonstrates the IDF reserve forces’ ability to operate efficiently in complex enemy territory and Israel’s determination to defend its borders and citizens.
