This morning (Thursday), IDF Arabic Spokesperson Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee issued an “urgent announcement” on his account on the X platform, directed at the citizens of Lebanon. In the statement, he listed several villages in southern Lebanon to which residents are prohibited from returning until further notice. The post also included a map highlighting a red line. This followed reports of residents returning to their villages and homes.

The post stated: “Urgent announcement to the residents of Lebanon – until further notice, you are prohibited from moving south of the following villages and their surroundings, as well as within the villages themselves: Shebaa, Al-Khiyam, Marjayoun, Arnoun, Yuhmor, Al-Qantara, Shakra, Bint Jbeil, Yatar, and Al-Mansouri.”

Adraee emphasized:
“The IDF does not intend to harm you, and therefore you are prohibited at this stage from returning to your homes south of this line until further notice.” He added that “Anyone moving south of this line exposes themselves to danger.”

In a post published yesterday, Adraee addressed Hezbollah following the enactment of the ceasefire. Filmed among the ruins of the southern Lebanese village of Khiam, the IDF spokesperson mocked Hezbollah, posing rhetorical questions aimed at highlighting the sense of defeat to the Lebanese public. “You call this a victory?” Adraee asked. “When you caused over a million Lebanese to flee their homes? When your death toll reached thousands? When your senior leadership was eliminated? When the tunnels that cost you millions of dollars vanished? When most of your military capabilities were destroyed?”

Adraee continued his critique of the terror organization, stressing that half of its fighters either deserted or surrendered. Concluding his statement, he sarcastically asked the Lebanese public: “If this is victory, what would defeat look like?”

Earlier, before releasing the video from Khiam, Adraee posted another image that sparked outrage in Lebanon—a photograph of a military documentarian crossing the Litani River. The image ignited controversy in Lebanon, with many claiming it was photoshopped or even taken in Ukraine. Nonetheless, even after the ceasefire was declared, IDF Arabic Spokesperson Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee continues to engage in the cognitive battle against Hezbollah.
