Tragic Loss: IDF Soldier Falls in Battle in Gaza

Sergeant Ido Samiach, aged 20, from Ganei Tikva, a team leader in the Nahal Reconnaissance Battalion, fell in combat in the northern Gaza Strip. Sergeant Samiach was hit by gunfire directed at IDF forces during an operation in Beit Hanoun, and the IDF is investigating the circumstances of the incident, which took place in an area where various brigades are active.

“He was the pride of his family and our community”

Ganei Tikva Mayor Lizi Daleritz said, “Ido, the beloved son of Ofra and Uri, and a devoted brother to Itai, Adi,and Omer, he was the pride of his family and his community. He fought bravely for the security of the State of Israel, and in his death, he leaves a great void in the hearts of all who knew him.” Before the funeral, a flag march will accompany the family from their home to the cemetery.

This morning, we reported that Captain Dvir Zion Revach, commander of the elite company in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, from Jerusalem, fell in battle in Beit Hanoun during the same incident in which Captain Eitan Shekhnazi was killed, whose death was reported yesterday. Both officers were killed by antitank fire, which also injured several other soldiers.
