The Ministry of Transport and Israel Railways announced today (Monday) that three train stations will resume operation starting next Sunday, December 8, 2024. The Achihud, Holon Junction, and Bat Yam Komemiyut stations, which were closed due to a workforce shortage during the wartime effort, will reopen for passenger traffic according to regular schedules.
Israel Railways stated that the renewal of service at the stations was made possible due to the return of employees from reserve duty and the recruitment of new workers, along with additional measures taken to strengthen the workforce needed to operate the stations.
The Achihud, Holon Junction, and Bat Yam Komemiyut train stations were temporarily closed for approximately 9 weeks, starting from October 6, 2024. Opening of the stations is expected to ease the burden on the many passengers living in the service areas of the stations and will allow residents seeking a convenient and efficient transportation solution to return to normalcy. Train traffic at the stations will be adjusted to regular schedules, enabling passengers to plan their trips efficiently and without significant changes.
